Art in Bars seeks to unite emerging artists in the Philadelphia region with alternative venues to display their work. AiB also provides casual art appreciators and collectors with an entree into undiscovered resources.
Working within the gallery system exposed the founder of AiB to a gap in the local contemporary art scene. Although there are traditional galleries,  craft / art / boutique hybrids, and dyi collective spaces, there will always be artists whose work falls outside of that rarefied world. AiB seeks to be an alternative resource to promote local arts and artists.
